Treasury has released exposure draft legislation to provide “look-through” CGT treatment for earnout arrangements.
These arrangements are concerned with the sale and purchases of businesses involving certain earnout rights, i.e. rights to future financial benefits linked to the performance of an asset or assets after sale.
